Louise Blackburn– Chartered Physiotherapist
Louise Blackburn is a Chartered Physiotherapist and CORU registered. She specialises in sports, musculoskeletal and women’s health assessment and treatment.
Women’s health experience includes treatment of urinary incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, pelvic girdle pain, ante-natal aches and pains and post-natal checks. Louise has extensive experience treating a wide range of pelvic floor conditions and musculoskeletal issues. She has advanced training in pelvic floor treatments with leading women’s health practitioners.
Another area of special interest for Louise are sports injuries. She has worked with many different sporting teams ranging from Wellington Rugby Club, Hawke’s Bay United a semi-professional soccer team in New Zealand and Galtee Rovers GAA football club in Co. Tipperary.
She worked closely with orthopaedic surgeons while in New Zealand. Louise has a special interest in lower body, shoulder, back and neck injuries. The combination of manual therapy techniques, acupuncture and stretching programs are utilized to get the best outcome and recovery.
Louise qualified from UCD in 2007. She worked in private practice in New Zealand for 7 years, where she also completed a Masters program in Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy and Western Acupuncture.
Louise is also Pilates trained with APPI (Australian Physiotherapy and Pilates Institute) and Balanced Body for matwork and the Reformer apparatus. This helps to guide her exercise prescription for clients with lower back pain and pelvic floor dysfunction.
Louise specialises in women’s health
